Know about PrEP?

PrEP is now available free of charge from our clinic for anyone who is eligible. You do not have had to have taken it before to be eligible.

PrEP is free on the NHS and is being rolled out across the country and is available from our clinic at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

PrEP is a drug which, if taken correctly, is highly effective in preventing the onward transmission of HIV.

HPV vaccination programme for men who have sex with men

We are now offering the  HPV (Human Papilloma Virus)  vaccination free of charge to men who have sex with men aged 45 or younger. This vaccination can protect against some cancers caused by HPV, as well as genital warts.

Gonorrhoea vaccination programme now available

Gonorrhoea is a sexually transmitted infection. Research shows that the Meningitis B (MenB) vaccine can reduce the risk of acquiring gonorrhoea by up to 40%.

The vaccine is being offered to mainly to gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) who are considered at highest risk. People of other genders and sexualities may also be eligible if assessed to be at high risk.

We are encouraging patients to get their vaccine during upcoming and routine appointments.
