Why not join our Peer Mentor Volunteer Team?
Supporting the work of our Health Promotion Team, peer mentor volunteers will be given the opportunity to:
- Promote awareness of, and support access to, HIV prevention services including PrEP and PEP within diverse communities
- Provide sexual health information stalls in a range of settings including college and university settings, community sites and events, and key festivals
- Support delivery of local and national sexual health campaign activities
- Get involved in condom packing and distribution of health promotion resources
Promoting good sexual health for all, our Health Promotion Team have dedicated programmes of work supporting:
- BAME Communities
- LGBTQIA+ Communities
- Young People
The volunteer role is open to anyone aged 18 or over and we especially welcome applications from those in communities affected by HIV and have an interest in supporting others in accessing PrEP, including anyone identifying as LGBTQIA+, people of colour, and speakers of languages other than English.
Volunteers are not required to have previous experience in, or knowledge of sexual health issues, relevant training and ongoing support will be provided while in the role.
Volunteering sessions take place throughout the week (mainly weekdays) and will require some daytime and early evening availability.
