Sheffield LGBT Schools Charter

Supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students in Sheffield schools

In collaboration with the Centre for HIV and Sexual Health and a range of local agencies, Sheffield Children, Young People and Families Service (CYPF) has recently launched a Charter to support Sheffield schools to effectively address homophobic and transphobic bullying and ensure they are inclusive of the needs of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered people.

This Charter is part of the work Sheffield has been nationally recognised for by Stonewall in its Education Equality Index.

Following the launch in November, CYPF has also commissioned the Centre for HIV and Sexual Health to administer the implementation of this Charter in Sheffield’s secondary schools.
