Led by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, South Yorkshire HIV Network has established a Lay Expert Advisory Panel (LEAP) to inform how HIV services are delivered locally.
LEAP is also involved in contributing to and participating in research that will help to improve the health and wellbeing of people living with HIV. LEAP is made up of volunteers who are living with HIV, caring for someone who is, or are part of a community where their friends or peers have been directly affected by HIV.
The experience, knowledge, understanding and empathy of people living with or affected by HIV is extremely valuable and needs to be utilised in order to deliver the best possible local services for people living with HIV.
If you’d like to know more about LEAP, if you have any questions, or have any feedback about HIV services please email LEAP@sth.nhs.uk
