Working with Trans People: An Introduction to the Trans Community

This one day course provides an introduction to the lives of trans people to gain an understanding of how services can be improved and work more closely with the trans community. The course promotes an understanding of the trans community, and an opportunity to explore your own work practice, to create a more trans positive environment.
The course covers the following topics:

  • Treatment availability and processes
  • Language used in the trans community
  • The law & rights of trans people
  • Health needs of trans people
  • Meeting the sexual health needs of trans people
  • What you can do to create a trans positive environment
  • Sources of support and information
