This course will encourage and promote the provision of sexual health support, information and signposting services within a range of health and community settings and will give provide an opportunity to:
- Consider holistic models of sexual health and relate these to work practice
- Explore factors that can impact on our ability to make informed choices about sexual health
- Explore our own attitudes and values to sex and sexual health
- Consider effective ways of raising the issue of sexual health with the people they work with
- Begin to develop effective strategies that incorporate sexual health promotion into their workplace
This course does not cover basic sexual health information e.g. sexually transmitted infections, contraception choices and condom use. It is recommended that participants have a basic understanding of these issues from previous training/experience before attending this training.
