This one-day training course will give participants an introduction to the key aspects of diversity and equality.
The course will:
- Enable participants to explore the meaning of ‘diversity’
- Allow participants to explore the history of equality and diversity
- Present key equality legislation
- Present a model of oppression
- Give participants the opportunity to experience different aspects of diversity
- Enable participants to consider groups they themselves belong to and to challenge limiting assumptions about certain groups
- Consider dilemmas and how to deal with potential situations in the workplace
- Present a model of constructive challenge
- Provide the opportunity to consider how to put the learning for the course into a work setting
