This course is about helping young people survive transition (from primary to secondary or child to adolescent) with their self-esteem intact.
Over the course of the two days participants will:
- Examine the factors associated with positive and negative self-esteem, including emotional, cultural and structural factors
- Develop workers confidence and skills to support emotional development and build self-esteem and resilience in young people
- Identify practical strategies and exercises to support emotional resourcefulness, self-esteem and resilience
- Explore how workers can model positive behaviours and attitudes
